About Us

Lago Vista Umpires provides trained and dependable baseball and softball officials for youth leagues in the Lago Vista and surrounding communities. In 2022 Ricardo Seda joined the Lago Vista United Baseball and Softball Board as the Umpire Coordinator. The need was to provide reliable umpires for our youth baseball and softball games. Many of the umpires at the moment were from far away and we didn’t have enough games for them to travel for just one game most of the time.

With the clear need identified, Ricardo created a program where he trained High School age students the basics of umpiring. This has created a constant influx of umpires for the league and the ability to schedule umpires ahead of time for all the scheduled games. With the collaboration of other veteran umpires we are consistently providing training and opportunities in our community, to the point that other leagues request our umpires for tournaments and games.

In 2026 Ricardo also joined the Executive Board of North Shore Little League, expending our service to even more kids within our community. Our umpires are committed to professionalism, consistency, clear communication, and the continued development. We believe well-prepared officials contribute to safer games, better sportsmanship, and a more positive experience for players, coaches, and families. Our umpire team includes individuals with a variety of playing, coaching, officiating, and leadership experience.
